I am looking for a working personal finance program for Mac to replace my quicken for windows. It is very hard to get an idea as to what will work best when you are limited in the trial program. I imported a quicken file , did a lot of work in posting and associating imported files with expenses created in home budget. I worked over an hour before all was done. Only when I was done I was told I was limited to 20 transactions. so the program told me to save the work. I could not cause I kept getting the message that the number of transactions were surpass so I had to force quit without a backup. Good bye home budget . I will go to something else… So far I think checkBook Pro appears to have less bugs…. To the maker of this software you should allow for more than 20 transactions for a proper test . if your program (app) is any good, people would pay you for it no matter the number your limit. 20 transactions for a lot of us is very very MINUTE>>>>>>>especially when they come from an import file…..

Easy to use. Easy to view and Easy to calculate. I love the Exchange Rate (guess). Since I use foreign currency like MMK. It shows in USD beside it. I can guess my balance in USD in a sec . THanks for free… PS- i write this review as soon as i test it . I don’t know if it is restricted for further uses..

This app is excellent ! I synchronize my expenses among my devices and I also created a group, which I can share with anyone I want to. Moreover, I am able to create new categories and subcategories in my expenses =) ! Great app !

it seams a rearly helpful tool. It has all the main functions in such kind of software. In addition you are getting a budget planner which makes a comparison between your own targets and the reality possible. Problem for German customer. Most of the German banks are not supported in the syncronisation. !!!!!

Not easy interface and anyway it only assumes you live in US dollars. Itll translate all your money into USD not even giving you the choice to save as your own currency. Its a great idea but not executed for everyone in mind.

The app is great looking and seems to work fine but it is completely useless since the transaction format lines keep disappearing and the transactions become invisible.

I was pleased to see the currency conversion option because I am Canadian and living in the UAE, but you can only convert to USD, so this feature is useless.

I LOVED checking this app out and didn’t realize, until I got the notification, that I had “run out” of Lite user ability. I went to check out the full version, but at almost $30 it’s just to expensive.

To make my budgeting quick and easy I do not use subcategories. Please make them optional. Also apllication has a lot of annoying questions "Are you sure..?" which waste my time to push OK every step. Give us option to switch off them.

This app helps me to present all my expenses and income in a very simple way. Thanks!

I installed this and it wont even open on my computer! I wouldnt waste your time...

I also cannot open this app after it was installed. What now?

Only one word came out after using this application for a week and that is "wow". Honestly speaking this is best for home account to keep track record of a single sent. You can check where are you spending and from where you can save. Thanks for making such a simple and very useful application. Amin Fateh

I thought this app was the answer to my very simple book keeping needs. Wrong! The lite version only allows 20 expense entries and 10 income entries, not even enough to do one entry per month! Such a bummer, Ive uninstalled this app and and am looking for something with more common sense!

I lowered my rating to 1 star… b/c they raised the price of the full version from $9.99 to $19.99… as I stated earlier they need to make some changes before I would buy the software at $9.99…. For $19.99 they better make some major changes… At this stage it cannot compete with Moneywell… so I am sticking to that program… either until they make the minor changes and drop the price back to $9.99… Or they make a lot of changes to this program… ------------------ I really love this program… but I changed it to 3 stars b/c the budgeting section is confusing… you cant have a phantom budget to set aside money for an expense and show deducted from checking amount…. Checking should have the actual amount, and the phantom amount set aside from the checking account save/set aside to pay the expense that is upcomming…. or set aside to save up to pay something…. Also… Not being able to see an alert until 7 days out is not handy…. I prefer to see it out at least a month…. also… even if due w/in 7 days but in the next month… it will not show in alerts… This has the potential to be a great app… but still needs a little work… Also would like to see where you attach a receipt (jpg or png) to a transaction…. I moved it to 3… b/c I went back to using money well until this software is developed a little better… Hoping it will and I can give it a 5 Star rating….

Needs to have more desc. info for bills that your paying and also be able to sync with banks. w/Sync doesnt work all the time.

This app only allows you to add """ONE""" income entry, but it says that you can add up to 10 Income Entries and up to 20 Expense Entries!!!!! Furious!

Everything works flawlessly. I really like how they catagorized everything and made it very easy to use.

This app was very user friendly, easy to use, and helpful….until a screen popped up to warn me that I can only have 20 expense entries and 10 income entries and that I needed to buy the full version to add more. I am very upset that I wasted my time with this app. It is not great enough for me to want to buy it.

After downlowning the latest update I no longer am able to launch Home Budget. It replaced the previous version I have so now I cant access any of the info I added from the previous version! If I could I would go back to the earlier version... the new one just doesnt seem to work at all!
